Basketball School
Basketball center complies with FIBA standards
Young players learn the secrets of basketball in one of the most modern basketball centers in Europe. The school has four halls with lots of modern equipment. Two of them meet all the requirements of FIBA. School pupils can educate their physical abilities in the gym, where equipment is specially selected to develop the necessary muscle groups.
The firs edition-the World's basketball stars
In 1999 A. Sabonis Basketball School pupil Giedrius Gustas became the Euroleague champion, in 2003 he became The European champion as well. In 2005 school pupils Paulius Jankunas, Jonas Maciulis, Darius Silinskis, Rolandas Alijevas won the World Youth Championship with the Lithuanian national team. In 2005 Martynas Andriuskevicius debut in NBA. In 2007/2008 even 4 basketball school pupils played in Kaunas ZALGIRIS team. We can strongly say, that our scool pupils play almost in every Lithuanian basketball team.
Achievements
A.Sabonis basketball school is leading at the rating of Lithuanian basketball clubs and schools every year. In 2009 A. Sabonis BS teams won three various age championships in Lithuanian Children Basketball Championships. In 2008 our school teams won four various age championships in Lithuanian Children Boys Basketball Championships.
In 2007 our school pupils Renaldas Simanavicius, Zygimantas Krupskis, Taurantas Tamosiunas, Vytenis Cizauskas became Basketball Tournament winners at Youth Olympic Festival in Belgrade. Vytenis Cizauskas became MVP.
In 2007 A. Sabonis BS pupils Jonas Maciulis, Giedrius Gustas, Paulius Jankunas won The European championship bronze medals with Lithuanian national team in Spain.
In 2008 Jonas Maciulis won an honorable fourth place at Summer Olympics with Lithuanian men's basketball team in Beijing.
In 2008 V. Cizauskas, R. Jakstas, T. Urbonas, T. Tamosiunas, L. Zemaitis won The European Championship gold medals with Lithuanian Cadet national team in Italy.
It is no secret that oubasketball school is one of the main basketball forge in Lithuania. The majority of young basketballl players continue their career in basketball clubs.
